Coal Seam Gas
Coal Seam Gas is a rapidly emerging major new source of energy for eastern Australia and which is highly competitive with gas from other sources and has the potential to supply a significant proportion of eastern Australia’s energy requirements.

The Company’s exploration portfolio comprises two large areas of advanced coal seam gas exploration; one in Queensland’s Bowen Basin and the other in Eastern Tasmania. The Company has spent significant effort over the past two years compiling and interpreting existing exploration data and have identified several prime drilling prospects in Queensland and Tasmania. In Tasmania in particular, the Company has built a database from the hundreds of historical coal-mining boreholes and has mapped and identified the key coal seam gas prospect areas.

Both project areas are located in proximity to existing infrastructure and growing energy markets. In Queensland, Pure Energy’s project areas are close to the existing Moranbah and Gladstone Pipelines. In Tasmania, Pure Energy has a unique opportunity to become the first domestic gas producer in an energy market that currently imports gas and, in dry years, electricity.

Pure Energy is in a good position to leverage past coal-mining exploration and is targeting fast-track reserves certification in both Tasmania and Queensland.

Pure Energy is well positioned to move to the forefront of the coal seam gas industry, an industry that is currently experiencing tremendous growth. Coal seam gas is gaining wide acceptance and credibility as an environmentally preferred “cleaner” fuel with Government policies increasingly encouraging gas-fired power generation. The foundations are in place for Pure Energy to grow rapidly and substantially.
